Vă invităm să participați la Seminarul ”Medicina Spațială, din ce în ce mai aproape spre cât mai departe”, susținut de Dr. Paul Zilberman. Dr. Paul Zilberman este născut la Iași, în anul 1960. Absolvent al liceului ”Mihail Sadoveanu” secția matematică, Dr. Zilberman se remarcă, împreună cu un alt coleg și prieten, ca șefii promoției 1979. În anul 1986 devine absolvent al Institutului de Medicină și Farmacie din Iași, urmând ca în anul 1995 să se stabilească în Israel, odată cu specializarea în anestezie. Anul 2008 îl găsește în Canada, unde primește un fellowship în ”day care anesthesia”, la Toronto Western Hospital.
Despre pasiunea pentru anestezie, declară ”în aceeasi perioada (n.n 2008) am fost atras de anestezia cu flux redus (Low Flow Anaesthesia). Același subiect a fost și este tema a numeroase conferințe și workshopuri în numeroase țări (Canada, USA, Indonezia, România, Moldova, Macedonia, Nigeria, Vietnam, Zimbabwe) precum și a unui canal YouTube. Încercând să înțeleg mai în amănunt schimburile de gaze la nivel pulmonar și tisular am descoperit treptat anestezia în circuit închis. De aici și până la circulația gazelor în incinta închisă din capsulele spațiale, a fost doar un pas. Pornind de la aproape tragedia Apollo 13, orizontul s-a lărgit, cuprinzând și modificările fiziologice din corpul uman în timpul adaptării la lipsa de gravitație, reversibilitatea acestora, problemele legate de necesitatea unor eventuale intervenții medicale în spațiul cosmic, inclusiv chirurgicale, stabilitatea chimică a medicamentelor, CPR etc.

Dr. Paul Zilberman was born in Iași in 1960. A graduate of „Mihail Sadoveanu” High School, specializing in mathematics, Dr. Zilberman distinguished himself, along with another colleague and friend, as the heads of the class of 1979. In 1986, he graduated from the Institute of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iași, and in 1995, he settled in Israel, specializing in anesthesia. In 2008, he found himself in Canada, where he received a fellowship in „day care anesthesia” at Toronto Western Hospital.
Regarding his passion for anesthesia, he states, „During the same period (2008), I was drawn to low-flow anesthesia. This topic has been and continues to be the subject of numerous conferences and workshops in various countries (Canada, USA, Indonesia, Romania, Moldova, Macedonia, Nigeria, Vietnam, Zimbabwe), as well as a YouTube channel. Trying to understand in more detail the gas exchange at the pulmonary and tissue levels, I gradually discovered closed circuit anesthesia. From there, it was only one step away from the circulation of gases within the enclosed environment of space capsules. Starting from the near tragedy of Apollo 13, the horizon expanded, encompassing the physiological changes in the human body during adaptation to microgravity, their reversibility, the issues related to the necessity of possible medical interventions in space, including surgical ones, the chemical stability of medications, CPR, etc.
