From a Johnson & Johnson Scholarship to Residency: A Former CieH Scholar's Path

Radu Marinescu was one of UMFCD's first five Johnson & Johnson scholars, in 2022, with a project studying in vitro inflammation models using normal circulating human monocytes. Two years on, Radu is a resident in Pathological Anatomy at the Fundeni Clinical Institute, pursuing a career in exactly the field he explored during his scholarship.

His story illustrates a recurring thread in the CieH–Johnson & Johnson scholarship programme: research projects supported during university often become, for many students, the starting point of a specialist medical career.
