CieH implements innovation and e-Health strategies and policies that advance the development of UMF „Carol Davila”, in accordance with national, European and international dynamics.
The Center for Innovation and e-Health (Centrul de Inovație și e-Health) is the university structure responsible for putting innovation and e-Health strategy into practice at UMF „Carol Davila” Bucharest. It exists so that new technology reaches teaching rooms, laboratories and clinical practice rather than staying in pilot projects.
Its work is carried out through seven cores — digital solutions and e-Health, data analysis and artificial intelligence, 3D printing, computational cardiology, digital communication, precision medicine and extended reality, and space medicine — each combining physicians, engineers, researchers and students around a shared facility.
The centre pursues a defined set of objectives, aligned with institutional policy and with national, European and international frameworks.
Developing access to technology for educational and research programmes

Training students in emerging technologies and the applications of artificial intelligence in medicine
Cultivating an e-Health culture and awareness across the student body
Supporting innovation activity, patent acquisition and technology transfer
Facilitating start-up and spin-off ventures
Promoting research projects that develop e-health and m-health IT solutions
Establishing e-learning systems and online educational methodologies
Supporting the application of 3D printing in education, practice and research
Advancing biotechnologies and big data analysis
Implementing further initiatives approved by the members of the centre

Each core has a dedicated coordinator, responsible for its research, education and development agenda.
