Research and projects
CieH runs and supports national and European research projects, from medical data infrastructure to personalised devices and space medicine.
Bioinnovative Center for Integrated Medical Data and Research in Bucharest
A strategic initiative dedicated to developing biomedical research infrastructure, integrating medical data, and accelerating national collaboration in medical research. Total budget: RON 99,676,414, fully funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
The problem
Romania's large-volume medical and genomic data is fragmented across institutions, limiting research, development and innovation capacity and the transfer of results into clinical practice.
What we do
An integrated digital ecosystem for medical research based on clinical and genomic data is being built, through a Data Lake and HPC infrastructure for the secure collection, storage and processing of data from at least 30 partner medical units.
Impact
The project aligns with the EU's efforts to support STEP-compatible initiatives, aimed at developing strategic technologies, strengthening advanced digital infrastructure, and accelerating innovation with impact in healthcare.
