INOPRACT — Innovative Development of Students’ Digital and Practical Skills

With a budget of RON 2,740,341, INOPRACT expanded CieH’s practice bases and established the Extended Reality (XR) hub, again coordinated by Ș.L. Dr. Ștefan Busnatu.

The problem

The practice bases opened in 2021 needed to expand into new medical specialties, and virtual reality, as a modern training method, was still unexplored at the university.

What we do

The project relocated the 3D Printing Lab into a larger space, acquired a Gence F350 industrial printer and a multi-material Prusa MK3S+, equipped the new XR Lab with 5 pairs of Oculus headsets, and ran over 40 workshops — from 3D-printing-assisted scoliosis planning to neuroanatomy in virtual reality — for more than 500 participants in total.

Impact

INOPRACT introduced extended reality as a medical-training method at UMFCD and significantly expanded the lab’s biocompatible 3D-printing capacity.
