Precision Medicine and Extended Reality Core

Personalised medicine based on the individual patient profile, supported by virtual and augmented reality technologies.

The Precision Medicine & Extended Reality Core is an interdisciplinary initiative that brings advances in digital pathology, genomics, molecular biology, and extended reality (XR — augmented, virtual, and mixed) into medical research and education.

Through its two specialized labs — the Digital & Molecular Pathology Lab and the Extended Reality Lab — the core is building a research and education ecosystem centred on the patient, on high-quality data, and on cutting-edge technology.

Its work includes medical training and preoperative planning in immersive XR environments for residents, specialists, and students, developing XR applications for simulation and recovery, digitizing histology slides with AI-assisted diagnostic marker detection, and integrating molecular data into research and education.
