What Do Romanians Think of Telemedicine? A CieH Student's Survey of 2,288 People

Andreea Treteanu, a member of the e-Health, Big Data & AI Hub and a Johnson & Johnson scholar, ran one of the largest Romanian studies to date on public perceptions of telemedicine, based on a survey of 2,288 respondents.

The results show that 62% of respondents had already used an app or online service for medical assistance, yet only 20% had ever used an actual telemedicine service. At the same time, over 60% of respondents feel comfortable using technology to communicate with healthcare professionals, and 86% believe telemedicine has a positive impact on the quality of medical care — a gap between availability and uptake that the study documents at this scale in Romania for the first time.
