5,000+ 3D-Printed Medical Face Shields Donated to Bucharest Hospitals

In the middle of the protective-equipment shortage at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, CieH's 3D Printing Lab coordinated the "3D-Printed Medical Face Shields" project, run by the Romanian 3D Biomodelling Medical Association in partnership with the Bucharest Medical Students' Society, under the aegis of UMFCD.

Backed by the Department of Pharmacology, the Dean's Office, the Vice-Rectorate and the UMFCD Rector, the project 3D-printed over 5,000 protective face shields, donated to Bucharest medical units on the front line of the fight against the virus — one of the first times the Center's 3D-printing technology proved its direct impact on public health.
