Hackathon4Health 2024 — 7th Edition

The 7th edition of Hackathon4Health, held entirely on-site at the Faculty of Medicine Palace, marked five years of partnership between UMFCD and Johnson & Johnson Romania and the first active involvement of the Împreună pentru Educație și Sănătate Foundation. It was the best-attended edition yet: 31 teams and 26 individual participants, guided by more than 60 mentors from across the country.

Among the winning teams were Eldie — a "virtual friend" for seniors designed to slow cognitive decline through memory games and interaction with a virtual assistant, DataCare — a platform that centralises patient medical data and uses AI to analyse hereditary risk factors, and Instincted — an app supporting parents of children admitted to paediatric wards with access to psychological support and vetted resources. The event was livestreamed on Facebook, generating 78 posts and an audience of nearly 3 million people.
