Interventional cardiology is a fast-expanding and forever fascinating specialty that tries to heal heart disease using only small catheters and other tools inserted distally, in order to avoid open heart surgery.
Although it might seem straightforward at first, the practice itself oftentimes leaves room for debate regarding what the best course of action could be. Which vessel is the best place of entry? What types of material and technology for stents and balloons are least associated with post-op thrombogenesis? What is the safest route to treat coronary vessel diseases? How can treatment be best adapted for each patient’s case?
If these questions piqued your interest and you wish to find answers, The Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery Club is delighted to invite you to one of its biggest events this year, CardioDebate, ed. 2! During this Student Session, there will be a scientific battle in which members of the CardioClub, organised in 2 teams, will bring up all of the recent controversy regarding diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of patients with de novo coronary lesions.
The discussions will be guided by a medical jury, which is represented by some of the most esteemed experts in the field of interventional cardiology: Dr Valentin Chioncel, Dr. Mihai Melnic and Dr. Ali Al Hassan.
The event will take place on 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟏𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫, 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟏𝟔:𝟎𝟎, and will be held in ENGLISH.
The location is Floreasca Hospital, Calea Floreasca 8.
