Today, June 23rd, at 12:00, Romania time, a historic meeting took place at the headquarters of the Innovation and eHealth Center of Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Center for Space Medicine. The students of the University attended an inspiring lecture on the future of medicine through space medicine modeling.
The exceptional presentation by Dr. Paul Zilberman was made even more significant and interesting by the honorable presence of Engineer Dumitru Prunariu, the only Romanian astronaut who have reached outer space.
During the conference with international outreach, the predicted medical issues of space travel and the existing solutions for some of them were explored. From the proper execution of resuscitation maneuvers in microgravity to the physiological and psychological adaptations required for such missions, and even the problems related to storage, transportation, and utilization of medications in space, the discussions were extensive, complex, and impactful.
Although there are many obstacles, the students passionate about space medicine laid the foundations for innovative ideas that can generate new projects during today’s debate with the special guests.

Astăzi, 23 iunie 12:00, ora României, la sediul CIeH UMFCD a avut loc o întâlnire istorică pentru medicina spațială românească. Studenții Universității au fost audiat prelegerea inspirațională despre modelarea Medicinei viitorului prin intermediul medicinei spațiale.
Prezentarea de excepție a Dlui. Dr. Paul Zilberman a fost dublată în semnificație și interes de prezența onorantă a dlui Inginer Dumitru Prunariu, singurul cosmonaut român ajuns în spațiul cosmic.
În cadrul conferinței cu outreach internațional, au fost explorate problemele medicale prevăzute de călătoria în spațiu și soluțiile existente pentru o parte din ele. De la efectuarea adecvată a manevrelor de resuscitare în microgravitație, la adaptările fiziologice și psihologice necesare unor astfel de misiuni și până la probleme ce țin de stocarea, transportarea și utilizarea medicamentelor în spațiu, discuțiile au fost ample, complexe și de impact.
Deși există multe obstacole, studenții pasionați de Medicina spațială, au pus bazele unor idei inovatoare, generatoare de noi proiecte, în cadrul dezbaterii cu invitații speciali de azi.
